Healthcare Clinic

This historic building made a complete transformation from its past life as an automotive repair shop to a state-of-the-art clinic, in less than 2 years—a miraculous feat considering the COVID pandemic hit in the first few weeks after ground-breaking.

Structurally, the building went through the massive undertaking of a full seismic retrofit, which bolstered the original brick structure with steel moment frames, and underpinning at the foundation. The final product included a dedicated full floor for an education center, along with private client rooms for treatment.

During tenant improvement, the COVID pandemic hit globally, and this project was one of just a few that the City of San Francisco deemed essential to continue. The construction team planned and pivoted our building schedule strategy, and developed from scratch, guidelines for safety protocols, during an unprecedented time where public health information would change every hour.
